Flames

An internal fire burns for a dream out of reach,
The locked door stands tall and triumphant, it cannot be breached,
Its surface is marked by splinters and blood stains,
A silent confession of years of desolation and pain,
The untendered flames burns out of control,
I am wrapped in fog as black as coal,
Cinder littering every road,
Each step so blistering hot wherever I go.

Destiny

In the distance a spark glows ever so stronger,
The road ahead stretches longer and longer,
In my heart an answering spark ignites a fire,
Footsteps tugged on by a single desire,
Gusty wind directs the course of the river,
I am lost no longer.

Flickering Fragments

Visions blurred by fog and rain
What was before you flickers away in pain
Life's canvas torn into millions of shreds
Possible horizons consumed by shadows as dark as lead
Unforgiving tempest breaking down memory's door
Hailing stones and lashing sleet it did pour
Until no amount of repair can restore
Memory's stories exist no more
